NAAWAN, Misamis Oriental — The WFWP Philippines and Mindanao State University at Naawan (MSU Naawan) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on June 18, 2026 to begin a shared journey toward peace, empowerment, and the wellbeing of the whole community.
The signing was graced by MSU Naawan Chancellor Elnor C. Roa, Ph.D., Prof. Desheree Preciado of the OIPD, and other university officials, who warmly welcomed WFWP Philippines into the MSU Naawan community.

Representing WFWP Philippines were Prof. Juvy Delmonte, President; Dr. Janet Kabayama, Corporate Secretary; and Prof. Bernadette Alavazo, President of the WFWP NCR Chapter.

For WFWP, the day was not about arriving with answers, but about joining hands with an institution already doing meaningful work for its students, its families, and the wider region. The partnership reflects WFWP's guiding philosophy of a culture of heart, and its commitment to its four core focus areas: empowering women, strengthening families, raising the next generation, and building partnerships for peace.
Together, these four areas shape a holistic vision for the partnership. The collaboration is meant to reach beyond any single group — supporting women as leaders and change-makers, nurturing families as the foundation of peaceful communities, walking alongside young people as they grow, and building bridges among institutions, local leaders, and ordinary citizens working toward a more peaceful society.

Following the signing, both parties mapped out the road ahead. The discussion centered on the specific activities the two organizations will carry out, as well as the drafting of a Memorandum of Agreement that will give those plans a clear and workable shape. The conversation was practical and collaborative, grounded in a shared desire to make sure the partnership produces real and lasting benefit across the community it serves.
One shared event that took place immediately was the Peace Designer orientation attended by MSU Naawan students alongside several Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials. Around 43 participants took part, bringing energy and curiosity to a program that invites them to see themselves as designers of peace within their own families, campuses, and communities.

The orientation was led by Jun Young Teves, president of IAYSP Pilipinas, WFWP's partner in the Peace Designer Project — a collaboration that brings together students and young leaders around a common vision of service and unity, and one that naturally extends the partnership's reach back into the homes and neighborhoods these young people come from.
The gathering at MSU Naawan was a reminder that peace is not built by any single group alone, but through partnerships rooted in respect and a willingness to work side by side.

From this first step in Naawan, WFWP Philippines looks forward with hope to all the good that lies ahead — one shared step, and one act of heart, at a time.
