WFWP Youth Leaders Join 2025 UNLEASH Hack USA, Hacking Solutions to Education Crises
The UNLEASH Hack USA 2025 took place in a hybrid format on July 22–23, 2025, bringing together young people and community leaders for a two-day intensive, including WFWPI leaders Priscilla Garces, Yamcy Fleming, Hyowon Barlaan, and Shinwon Barlaan.
WFWP Vienna Focuses on Education for Peace in the Summer of 2025
The Women’s Federation for World Peace Vienna organized the Quality Education for All Conference in Cierna Voda, a village just outside Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia on June 28 and 29, 2025 which touched on Education for Peace, Character Education, and Environmental Education.
WFWP Geneva Emphasizes Legal, Emotional protection of Women and Children from Domestic Violence
WFWP Geneva organized a forum on domestic violence as a side event of the Human Rights Council 59 titled “Protection from Domestic Violence: Breaking Cycles, Building Peace” in partnership with the Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, UNODC, Ambassadors of Indonesia and Samoa, and academic and NGO leaders.

Governments Should Empower Families to Protect Women and Girls – Barlaan
Merly Barlaan, Vice President, WFWP International Director, Offices for UN Relations was one of the panelists of the side event titled “Sexual Harassment as a Barrier to the Implementation of the SDGs” on July 14, 2025. She answered the question “In your view, how can value-based education and the role of families contribute to creating safer environments for young people? And how can we ensure these values are passed down across generations—not just through institutions, but through everyday life?”
GWPN Assembly “Leadership Advancing a Culture of Heart” in WFWP Australia
WFWP Australia hosted the Global Women Peace Network, Mentor Program and the launch of the Global Women Peace Ambassador Award.
The Girl Child Empowerment Project in WFWP Burkina Faso
WFWP Burkina Faso organized a workshop in Lycée Bogodogo with students from the Ouagadougou International School in six different cities and schools. Each workshop was attended by 50 to 250 children.
Sewing classes for vocational training in WFWP Haiti
WFWP Haiti held sewing classes for women and men who want to become self-sufficient. The classes were divided into morning and afternoon sessions, with 12 students in each class, for a total of 24 participants.
Green Solar Energy for African Villages in WFWP Kenya
The project, organized by WFWP Kenya, benefited over 100 families in Kitui who were provided with solar lamps. Mothers were able to do their chores in the evenings and children attending school were able to do their homework in the evenings. They stopped using kerosene lanterns, which were particularly harmful to their eyes and respiratory system. The project achieved its goal of changing the lives of the beneficiaries and giving them hope for a better life and health.
Mmangwana Mobile Library in South Africa
WFWP South Africa has been able to obtain partnerships with local school governing bodies to give education through the Mobile Library project. These partnerships have the potential to be long-term. For children who regularly attend sessions, project interventions are helping to fill the learning gaps created by the COVID-19 pandemic.
