WFWP Latin America Celebrates GWPN’s 8th Anniversary in the Dominican Republic

On December 15, WFWP Latin America held the 8th annual Global Women’s Peace Network celebration in the city of Santiago, Dominican Republic.

The accommodations provided a beautiful environment with women leaders from all Latin America. Participants included WFWP International Vice President Sun Jin Moon, former First Lady of Nicaragua, Deputies from Panama, and government officials from the Dominican Republic.

On Monday, December 16, at around 11:30 a.m., WFWP members responsible for the Latin American chapters of Women’s Federation for World Peace gathered in the lobby of Hotel Hodelpa in Santiago where they met with the WFWP International Vice President and her husband, In Sup Park.

During the event, participants were able to share their personal stories, experiences, and current activities in Latin America.

Silvana Amaral, WFWP leader from Columbia, expressed hot grateful she was for the experience.

“I want to return to my country and give everyone the love I received from you and your husband, you are really a role model,” she said.

Participant Francisca Gómez Yamaguchi was very grateful for the opportunity to attend the event.  She also wanted to thank Sun Jin Moon for her hard work and dedication.

“We are really in the era of women and we must continue working hard to bring love, peace, and happiness,” she said.
