WFWP Ivory Coast Holds Campaign Preventing Early Marriage and Drug Addiction
Abidjan - As part of the national awareness campaign to prevent early pregnancy and drug addiction, WFWP Côte d'Ivoire organized a major conference at the Maison Digitale of the IFEF (Women’s Training and Education Institute) in Treichville on December 16, 2025.
Under the supervision of Babo Évelyne, director of WFWP Abidjan South, this session aimed to mobilize young girls around the values of dignity and academic success, in alignment with SDGs 3, 4, and 5. About 143 participants attended.
Rallying on the 2025-2026 theme "School, the Foundation of the Ivorian Future: Integrated Prevention of Early Pregnancy and Addiction for Educational Success and Human Capital Development (SDG 3, 4, 5),” WFWP Côte d'Ivoire National President Enan Marie-Thérèse exhorted students to make academic excellence their absolute priority in her keynote speech.
Her message was bolstered by the presence of Babo Évelyne, director of WFWP Abidjan South, who oversees the implementation of actions in the Abidjan South zone, and by the support of Mun Chantal and Amichia Binlin.
The program opened with the screening of a poignant video report illustrating the devastating consequences of early pregnancy and addiction. This medium served as an immediate wake-up call regarding the obstacles that hinder the development of female human capital.
The director of the IFEF (Women’s Training and Education Institute), who was present to observe the event, praised the relevance of WFWP-CI's educational approach.
The students demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and took a solemn pledge to maintain abstinence until marriage to safeguard their health and honor, and to prioritize their education as the primary tool for empowerment and leadership.
The IFEF (Institutions for Training and Education of Women) are public structures for non-formal and local training, placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Women, Family and Children.
IFEF is a training center primarily for women and girls (often out of school or who have never attended school) as well as people in vulnerable situations. Its goal is to offer them a "second chance" to learn a trade and integrate into working life.
WFWP Ivory Coast actively engages with IFEF whose main activities are vocational training, literacy, family life education, entrepreneurial support, and social integration.
