Service Project Commemorating the Month of Patriots and Veterans (WFWP Korea)

Written by: WFWP Korea

In Korea, June is known as the month to commemorate patriots and veterans. On June 17, WFWP Korea held an annual volunteer activity to commemorate the patriotic martyrs and the noble spirit of patriotism under the theme of "We are here today because of your sacrifice." Volunteer activities took place in 176 branches with more than 1,800 volunteers.

For example, 200 volunteers from the Seoul area participated in the volunteer activity at the Seoul National Cemetery to express their gratitude for the sacrifices and contributions of patriots and veterans through the offering of flowers, silent tributes and environmental purification activities such as cleaning the headstones and pulling out weeds.

WFWP President, Mrs. Julia Moon said, "Let's continue to spread good influence and practice activities that contribute to the society with local women leaders. And let us convey our love to the world by inheriting the noble spirit from the patriots and veterans!"

WFWP Korea is planning to host the environmental volunteer activity, the "Plogging" in November to recognize the serious environmental issues and urge our actions for the protection of our Mother Earth.
