2nd Rally of Hope, Unites Global Leaders Under the Call for Peace

There are no ways of consistently solving these problems with human endeavors alone. The time has come for humanity to open its ears to the sound of Heaven.
— Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon

On September 26, the second Rally of Hope was broadcast live from South Korea. Thousands of WFWPI members, families, and guests, spanning 194 nations tuned in to hear 12 distinguished world leaders speak on the common theme of “interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values.”

This was the second of six world-level events planned for the rest of this year and was sponsored by Universal Peace Federation (UPF). UPF and WFWPI were both co-founded by Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon and her late husband, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon.

This international event with over 1 million viewers gathered distinguished leaders from 10 countries, including H.E. Evaristo Carvalho (President of Sao Tome and Principe), H.E. Dan Quayle (Former Vice President of the United States of America, 1989–1993), and H.E. Heng Samrin (Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia). The Congratulatory remarks were offered by the Co-Chairs of the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace, Hon. Dan Burton (former U.S. Congressman) and Hon. Jose de Venecia (former Speaker of the House, Philippines).

The leaders spoke passionately about their unique perspectives and direction on the official theme of the rally, which was “Building a heavenly unified world through interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values.” Global issues such as COVID-19, global warming, and conflict among nations, were just some of the prominent themes addressed throughout the event. As part of the entertainment, The Little Angels from Korea performed a traditional Korean song, “Arirang” as well as “Colors of the Wind,” which gracefully spread the message of learning to live together with nature instead of destroying it.

Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, known affectionately as Mother Moon, spoke about the consequences of selfish behavior, which can be seen in the destruction of our environment. She repeatedly stressed the importance of aligning ourselves with Heaven’s call to ultimately solve the ongoing conflict, division, and discord occurring in our nations, families, and our own hearts.
