On March 8, 2023, the Women’s Federation for World Peace Lebanon celebrated International Women’s Day and the 30 year anniversary of the WFWPI at the Gefinor Rotana Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon. There were ten very special ladies who participated at this event. Some of them are founders of an NGO, others are former members of Parliament and those working in the field of education.

This event gave WFWP Lebanon a good chance to give an overview of WFWP’s activities since its founding in 1992 and also introduce the co-founders, Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon. Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, affectionately known as Mother Moon, continues working with leaders in a range of sectors, including heads of state, parliamentarians, academics, scientists, religious leaders and Nobel laureates to lay the foundation for an equitable world. Having addressed the United Nations within one year of the founding of WFWP, she continues her heartfelt public message to audiences in prominent venues on issues that highlight women's responsibility for the betterment of humankind. All of these points were part of the powerpoint presentation to give a better understanding of the co-founders.

“History is calling for reconciliation, compassion, love, service and sacrifice. Today’s problems cannot be solved by the logic of power... Our present problems can only be solved by the logic of love.” This famous quote from Mother Moon that was also part of the presentation, resonated with the ladies, especially in this challenging time we face in Lebanon.

Further, the event was a great opportunity to hear each of the participants share about their activities and experiences during the past years. Each lady was sharing their perspective on the role of women, and about their direct experiences in various fields, such as their social or NGO activities or working in the field of education.

To conclude, one of the highlights of the gathering was that all the ladies present expressed their desire to collaborate with WFWP Lebanon. Also, they expressed their desire to join upcoming meetings, where they can discuss WFWP projects that will be beneficial for Lebanon, especially at this time as the country is facing a huge economic, social and political crisis.
