Entrepreneurship Training at New Hope Technical Institute (WFWP Rwanda)

The Entrepreneurship training was organized by the New Hope Technical Institute from June 27 to July 8. Students were excited to plan the future. Students spent two weeks discussing the projects with their facilitator in order to be familiar with daily life in business after ending their studies. One of the biggest advantages of getting started with entrepreneurship skills at a young age is the opportunity to learn important skills such as teamwork, networking, problem-solving, critical thinking, innovation, and self-discipline.

All these skills can help in school performance and later in life. By the end of the module, the trainees gained the following abilities:

-Identifying good ways to manage money;

-Identifying the waste of money;
- Analyze financial needs effectively;

-Describe a way to decrease expenses through reuse, recycling, reduction and repair;

-Set saving goals and work towards achieving them;

-Perform basic records keeping and personal budgeting;

-Be familiar with financial Institutions in their region;

-Describe the risk associated with debt and suggest the strategies to keep out of debt;

-Assess the business idea;

-Understand clearly the basic element of marketing;

-Write a business plan;

-How to use social media as an advocacy tool
