70 years have passed since the separation of the two Koreas, and it is currently the only divided country in the world. The war divided thousands of families and even now many are unsure whether their relatives on the other side of the border are still alive.

Women’s Federation for World Peace, International (e.i. WFWPI) started this project based on the Founder’s vision of unifying the thoughts for peace and unity centered on the culture of heart, which is living for the sake of others. WFWPI believes that an environment of sustainable peace and harmony, which transcends the barriers of race, nation, and religion, can be created through the individual, who exercises dialogue and cooperation, over conflict and competition, and expands this culture of heart to their family, society, and the world.

The Color my Heart with Peace children’s art contest is a project that hopes to cultivate self-expression in the future generation, especially on the vision of building a world of freedom, peace, unity, and happiness together as one global family in one global village where everyone has the creativity, resources, and compassion to create a world where the culture of heart can blossom.

WFWPI posted the results of the winners for the 1st Color My Heart with Peace Children's Art Contest on the Facebook page on April 3, 2020. Many children, parents, and teachers from around the world applied in the contest. In total, we received 302 artworks from 32 countries. The artworks were judged and evaluated by the judging panels; Prof. Hyoung Min Na, Kyung Hee University, and Prof. In Ho Cho, Seoul National University.

Artworks were evaluated by following: 30% for creativity, 30% for the interpretation of the theme, 20% for the overall impression of the artwork, and 20% for the amount of Facebook Likes.

In addition, ages and the nations of participants were taken into accountant for the judging panels. The judges then selected 48 winners in total: 1 Gold Award winner, 1 Silver Award winner, 2 Bronze Award winners, 8 Merit Award winners, and 36 Achievement Award winners.

The 1st Color My Heart with Peace online exhibition will be held on the Facebook page.
