WFWP Philippines-Bohol held a “Character Education for Nation-building: Pure Love Education” seminar from July 16-19, 2021, in Bohol, Philippines. The theme of this event was "The Youth's Power to Change a Nation: Practicing Altruism and Conscience-Centered Leadership Paradigm in the Young People." A total of 57 young people participated, composed of both youth leaders and students.

The main goal of the seminar was to promote “Pure Love Education,” a solution to the issues such as increasing rates in teenage pregnancy and HIV-AIDS in the Philippines. “Pure Love Education” promotes the sanctity and value of marriage in creating healthy and stable families. It emphasizes and uplifts the value of an individual. When one is confident in their value as a human being, they cannot act carelessly with their love.

One of the lectures given explained that “True Love is unconditional love; giving and forgetting that you have even given love. True Love is living for the sake of others, love for everyone, and the greatest love.” Commitment in marriage was also spoken about because as research has shown, children raised in a two-parent household are more likely to feel stable and succeed in the course of their life. The sense of safety and security in a peaceful family is extremely important in raising children who are also peaceful.

As the importance of one’s value and love were explained, participants were able to see the importance of committing themselves to strong morals and values. The participants also united in continuing the quest for creating a world of peace, through becoming the embodiment of peace and practicing True Love. When we can become people who find joy in living for the sake of others more than our own selves, peace will blossom quickly.
