Letter of Solidarity and Hope for our beloved co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon
The president of Women’s Federation for World Peace International (WFWPI) Moriko Hori writes a letter of solidarity and concern for co-founder 82-year-old Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon who is currently held in prison for alleged political collusion in S. Korea.
Dear friends, partners, members of our global WFWP family,
Warm greetings filled with love and peace!
At this time, our thoughts and hearts are deeply with our beloved co-founder Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, who has devoted her entire life—now at the age of 82—to the noble cause of peace and reconciliation for all humankind.
On October 10, she was indicted on charges of collusion in political lobbying—charges that have been firmly denied. Despite having recently undergone heart surgery and being in a delicate state of health, she remains under detention in connection with allegations involving political donations and bribery.
As President of WFWPI, I am deeply concerned about her well-being and sincerely hope that her health and dignity will be given the utmost consideration during this difficult time.
For over six decades, Dr. Moon has walked a path of sacrifice, faith, and compassion, inspiring countless people to transcend boundaries of nation, race, and religion. Her dream of “One Family under God” has guided women and men around the world to work together in healing division, fostering understanding, and building lasting peace.
Those of us who have worked alongside her, or who have been moved by her vision, know the depth of her love for humanity. Her heart has always embraced those who suffer, and her leadership has empowered women everywhere to become agents of compassion, wisdom, and peace.
Today, many around the world share a profound sense of concern for her health and well-being. We are united in prayer and hope—for her comfort, strength, and peace of mind. We honor her lifelong commitment and hold deep gratitude for her courage and example.
At the same time, we, the members of the Women’s Federation for World Peace International, renew our determination to carry forward and expand the peace movement that Dr. Moon has founded. We believe this is the most sincere expression of our love and respect for her: to keep her vision alive, to embody her spirit of service, and to ensure that her dream continues to inspire future generations.
Let us stand together in faith and solidarity—women and men, young and old, across all nations—committed to advancing the work of peace, reconciliation, and shared humanity. May our unity and dedication become a living testimony to Dr. Moon’s enduring legacy of love.
With heartfelt prayers and gratitude,
Moriko Hori
President
