Empowering Women, Strengthening Families, Connecting Communities

Oceania is a region of islands in the South Pacific. Although Australia and New Zealand are themselves multi-cultural nations, our Pacific Island nations are Melanesian, Micronesian, or Polynesian. WFWP Oceania is active in Australia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Fiji. We are separated by expanses of ocean and our development is vastly different. Even within each island nation, individual states are islands separated by seas.

WFWP Australia and New Zealand work together to support women in the Pacific Islands through our humanitarian  projects. These include: Endeavour micro-credit for women; Pacific Scholarship Fund for young adults and high school children; Books for the Islands; New Hope Academy in the Solomon Islands; Women's Sewing Centres; and, Island Lights Project.

Although our nations are different, WFWP Oceania women share the same heart. We are connected as a region through our commitment to raising healthy and resilient families, empowering local women, raising future leaders, and partnering with women organisations through the Global Women's Peace Network.

Working towards the goals of WFWP International, activities within each nation may include: Dignity Project forum; annual Walk-a-thon to support our Pacific Neighbours; workshops, seminars and conferences on peacebuilding; marriage, family and wellness education; character education; and reconciliation through the Bridge of Peace ceremonies.
