Technical Guidance
Outline: Handicraft lessons for women started in 1996 to help them become
self-dependent. With the cooperation of local social workers, lessons are
given at 14 community centers in the black residential area within the
capital, Harare. In an Annual Womenfs Show sponsored by the City of
Harare, artwork from each community is entered into a contest. A WFWP
Japanese volunteer is one of the judges of the contest.
New Developments: In 2005, 60 women were instructed in 3 areas.
Participants sell their artwork to support their living.
