Outline: Handicraft lessons for women started in 1996 to help them become self-dependent. With the cooperation of local social workers, lessons are given at 14 community centers in the black residential area within the capital, Harare. In an Annual Womenfs Show sponsored by the City of Harare, artwork from each community is entered into a contest. A WFWP Japanese volunteer is one of the judges of the contest.

New Developments: In 2005, 60 women were instructed in 3 areas. Participants sell their artwork to support their living.
