Management of Day-Care/Kindergarten "WFWP Day-Care Kindergarten School" and "WFWP Elementary School"

Outline: The school was opened in the poorer section of Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, in September 1998, with approval from the government. Children aged 3 to 6 are accepted. They enroll in September and graduate in July. The school teaches basic reading and writing, songs, French, and Japanese, and provides lunch and transportation services. The elementary school was opened in 2002. The curriculum is in accordance with the guidelines set by the Ministry of Education, with the addition of foreign languages, AIDS preventive education, family education, and moral education.

New Developments: The school relocated in 2005. The third and fourth grades were added to the elementary school course in 2006. The local staff members work together with residents who live near the school, to make funding for the school through farming. This is used to manage the school, to provide lunches for students, to build additional classrooms, and conduct repairs.
