Youth Volunteers for International Cooperation

WFWP has been conducting volunteer projects in developing countries since 1997, in cooperation with other NGO groups so that Japanese youth can experience ethe Global Family.f Despite the culture shock the young people may encounter, they undergo important life experiences not easily found in Japan, by shedding sweat together and communicating with the local people.

Philippines

March 23-April 1, 2005
8 participants helped educational support activities in a village of Panpanga and at a high school in Antipolo city, Rizal.
 

Cambodia

August 1-10, 2005
9 participants built and offered kidney beans arbors for financial self-help of families of AIDS carriers at the "Self-help Center for the Disabledhoperated by CVSG in Siem Reab.
 

Thailand

August 4-13, 2005
7 participants helped reconstruction activities for the victims of the earthquake off Sumatra. They built homes which a Rotary club was building for the victims in Phang Nga province.
 

Paraguay

August 25-September 14
10 participants helped construction work of a school in 14(Catorce) de Mayo village.
 

Cambodia

August 6-15, 2006
10 participants planted trees of jackfruits and built and offered the "WFWP Children's Farm" for financial self-help of people of thegSelf-help Center for the Disabledhin Siem Reab
 

Mongolia

August 17-30, 2006
11 participants helped restoration work of a youth center in Mandal. They experienced the culture of Mongolia through visiting a family of nomad, horse riding, and archery.
