“What started as a hobby has developed into a creative art business,” says Yuhee Lee, a young professional from Korea. Yuhee graduated from the Department of Nursing Sciences at Sun Moon University in South Korea. She is currently working as an operating room nurse at Saem Hospital. Besides her major work, she is also a digital expat. What started as a hobby has become a professional emoticon-emoji sticker production and is now sold on online platforms at Line, OGQ market, and Mojitok. She is also a speaker at the OZIK audio platform. Yuhee also creates original products for online retailers such as Idius and Etsy, and is an active blogger for Naver and Tistory.

The WFWPI Virtual Café on August 26 brought together roughly 35 people from 26 countries for a “Beginner's Guide to Procreate.” Procreate is an IT program for digital painting that is very popular among professional and hobbyist illustrators and creators. In this class, Yuhee explained the basic skills and simple techniques for using Procreate by sharing her own experiences with digital drawing. This was an insightful one-hour tutorial master class, useful for both beginners and those who want to take their skills to the next level. Yuhee also shared with the participants her favorite textures, brushes, and palettes and how to create not only drawings but also GIFs and small animations using the iPad and Apple Pencil. The course was held in English and Korean.

After the class, participants had time to ask questions and share their experiences. One participant said, "I like these creative webinars where you can actually learn from the professionals." Some participants who did not have a device for painting also expressed a desire to purchase one to try this program at home.

The program was especially educational for the younger members, motivating them to learn new skills and develop new hobbies that can actually bring financial support. WFWPI will continue to design and offer fun and knowledgeable courses to empower women and youth in various countries.

WFWP IHQ plans to host its next Virtual Café in October.
