WFWPI Virtual Café is a new online bimonthly implementation hosted by WFWPI HQ for WFWP leaders, members, and guests to gather in a hospitable space to explore issues and questions that matter, encourage everyone’s contributions, connect diverse perspectives, listen together for insights and share collective discoveries.

Over 70 people from 45 countries participated in the event virtually on December 11, 2020, for the WFWPI Virtual Café kickoff. WFWPI Virtual Café was opened with welcoming remarks and an introduction from the moderator, Mrs. Paris Moon, International Secretary General of WFWP. She warmly welcomed the participants stating, “Welcome, and I hope that everyone will enjoy the event with our world-class baristas.”

The program was followed by three small-group rounds of six to seven people each led by 11 “baristas,” who are team leaders. Every discussion session began with an online icebreaker and team games, which created a special environment of friendship and solidarity between participants. At the end of every round, each member of the group moved to a different new “table” to meet new WFWP friends and we encouraged participants to exchange contact information.

The event culminated with the reflections from participants, who shared their experiences and thoughts from attending the event. Ms. Jenifer Toban from England, who just moved to Paraguay said: “I am happy and grateful for the experience. I don’t speak Spanish and it was hard to stay connected with people. Through the café, I could meet amazing ladies worldwide and feel like my heart is opened again.” Ms. Jeong Hee Allyson Pizarro shared “It was great to see such a variety of characters and personalities sitting and discussing together at one table. It was a learning experience for me.”

WFWPI Virtual Café was a perfect remote interaction where each of WFWP participants could feel connected face-to-face, making new friendships and catching up with old friends.
