Connecting with WFWP Leaders Around the World: Meet WFWP Latin America

At the beginning of 2023, the Women’s Federation for World Peace International launched a new initiative inviting WFWP leaders to speak about their remarkable activities and projects. This new initiative’s primary objective was to provide a unique opportunity to strengthen the connection between WFWP leaders and members across the globe. In that regard, the event fostered a deep understanding of the organization, its work, and raised awareness about the impact of WFWP on the world in general.

On January 26, Mrs. Roswitha Giuliano, WFWP International Vice President of Latin America, was invited to present her personal story related to her work in the organization. When she shares her life story, one can notice that it is all about unwavering dedication to her work. Mrs. Giuliano was born in Paraguay in a Mennonite family. In 1989 she married Mr. Gustavo Giuliano from Argentina and together they were blessed with five children, four of whom have embarked on their marital journeys, bringing three cherished grandchildren into their close-knit family.
From a professional perspective, Mrs. Giuliano has always been an active advocate for family values and unity. From 1994 to 2009, she played an important role in supporting pro-family rallies and events of FFWPU Argentina/Venezuela. Her leadership skills led her to the position of president of WFWP Argentina from 2000 to 2009, where she continued to empower women in various spheres.

From 2003 to 2019 she served as an International Secretary General of WFWP Latin America, leaving an indelible mark on the organization's mission in the region. Apart from that, with a great passion for literature, she multitasked as a freelance translator for Sunghwa Publishing Co., Ltd from 2013 to 2015, translating essential works from English to Spanish. In 2019 she assumed the role of International Vice-President of WFWP Latin America and the Caribbean, thus expanding her impact globally. Her true dedication and hard work leveled up her career path to the presidency of WFWP Paraguay from 2011 to 2023, where she continued to champion the principles of peace, empowerment, and unity.

Mrs. Giuliano was always eager to share each of WFWP Latin America's projects and activities, as well as the impact of those activities on families and communities. One of the key projects in the region was "Towards Pink October", which aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer in the community. The project has provided a great opportunity to build new partnerships with different organizations and NGOs in Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries.

Another signature project, which WFWP Latin America actively supported, was the "Giving for Good" project. This campaign worked on Regeneration School's climate action project to educate 1,000 students in Colombia to raise environmental awareness.

Last but not least, WFWP Brazil hosted its annual "Festival of Nations" - one of the main national events that brings together 15,000 people every year to celebrate the diversity of nations in unity. During the Q&A session, participants asked detailed questions about the methods and challenges of project development. Mrs. Giuliano shared with the audience about overcoming challenges and highlighted the financial aspect as the most difficult one. She also expressed her gratitude to the current sponsors who support and provide their assistance and thus, help the organization to implement various projects in the region. In conclusion, Mrs. Giuliano emphasized the importance of social media in spreading the word about WFWP's good activities for people worldwide.
