On August 3, many gathered at the local Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Headquarters for Chá da Tarde (afternoon tea).  The event was organized to foster critical discussion around the importance of interfaith work in facilitating world peace.  Members of WFWP engaged with individuals from the local community and the AMPM SP group to comprise a total of fifty-four participants.

Pastor Célia Zaduski warmly welcomed all of the participants and introduced the performance of Selma Tristão,  Tristão serves as an ambassador of peace throughout all of Brazil and the globe, highlighting her mission in her passionate singing and dancing.  Mrs. Cui Yulan, president of AMPM in Brazil, along with Ms. Jorgina Esparza Lucimara then proceeded to introduce their organization, the AMPM, and advocated for the acceptance of religious pluralism and tolerance.

The event reiterated the mission and work of WFWP in furthering a culture of sustainable peace to realize one global family.  Specifically, it focused on establishing a respect for religious differences and understanding that they must be embraced in pursuit of a better world.  Rather than fixating on its differences, humanity must come together to recognize their common goals of protecting the planet, peace building, and improving the lives of its people.
